Advertising Space

Because of the importance of the self-sustaining economy and to provide users a way to enjoy some content in the metaverse for free, advertising in the world of both in-game and real-world brands will be enabled. While not invasive, the advertising in the metaverse provides landholders a revenue stream for as little work as constructing and allowing a billboard on their land. Billboards function as a portal to an advertised venue or product, which would be as immersive as putting the player into a commercial. An example might be that clicking a billboard for a hotel suite in Las Vegas might put the player in VR in that hotel suite for 30 seconds, allowing them to quickly see the suite advertised and the view from the room being booked. For each player that engages in that experience, the land owner will receive revenue from that hotel chain.
